The Vilmo Gateway is a server-based interface permitting voice transmission
betweenTCP/IP connectivity and PSTN (Public Service Telephone Network) or PBX
(Private Branch Exchange). Our Gateway is equipped with ClickTel VTG software
and Dialogic cards, and runs under a Windows NT 4.0 platform. This
revolutionnary technology allows the integration of voice communications
between:
A telephone to a PC
A PC to a telephone
A telephone to telephone (through Internet/Intranet)
A Web Plugin to telephone
And Fax to Fax
Key Benefits
This interface can turn your Web Site into an active communications tool.
Today, 98% of Internet users have only one telephone line at home. In order to
reach you, they can send you an e-mail for more information and wait, or they
can write down the telephone number on a paper (if you have provided it on your
Web page) and call you later when they have completed their surfing. The result
in either cases is that from the time they write your phone number or send you
an e-mail, their interest has dropped by over 90%.
With the help of the ClickTel plugin, at the user side, your visitor can
speak to your agent or sales representative immediately .
This system is also a great money saving solution for mutlinational
companies who which to communicate using their existing Intranet network or
through the Internet
These 2 applications respond to both your present needs to reduce your
long distance cost, and we feel most importantly, increases your revenu
potential through your Internet E-Commerce..
Applications
Telephone to Telephone
The call first travels
over the PSTN/PBX to the nearest Gateway. When prompted, the caller enters the
destination telephone number. The call then travels over the IP network to the
Gateway nearest to the specified telephone. The local Gateway decides the best
routing on a priority-list basis. From the remote Gateway, the call is again
sent over the PSTN/PBX to the destination phone.
Telephone to Computer
When calling an Internet Phone from a telephone, the call travels over the
PSTN/PBX to the nearest Gateway. When prompted, the caller enters the
destination Internet address using the telephone keypad. The call then travels
directly to the desired computer.
Computer to Telephone
When placing a call
using VocalTecs Internet Phone 5.0™ , the call travels over the IP
network to the Gateway closest to the call destination. This routing is
automatically determined by the system. From this point, the call travels over
the PSTN/PBX to its final destination.
Web Browser to Telephone: ClickTel™
Using ClickTel, people
surfing the Web can connect to a company’s call center by clicking a
"Call" button located on the company Web page. Users can communicate
with a customer service group, ordering department, or help desk by using their
Web browser and multimedia equipment. This feature is effective for companies
who supply calling services and wish to expand the number of ways in which
customers can contact their staff. A company wishing to use this powerful
service must have a World Wide Web Server and a Web site.
Fax to Fax
Using ClickTel’s new
facsimile capabilities, fax transmissions can be made between local and remote
Gateways. The local fax dials the remote fax over the Gateway network,
establishes the connection and transmits to the remote fax. Features include
both on-line and store-and-forward modes (in case remote fax is busy).
